[ECHO]TOPIE

[echo]topie is an interactive sound installation aiming to recreate a south american jungle soundscape, and to represent the acoustic niches that compose it. Following the work of Bernie krause in bioacoustics, the installation is a recreation of a soundscape that reacts to the way the spectators interact with it. If a spectator moves to suddenly or too abruptly some species represented in the soundscape will disappear, leaving a spectral hole in the ecosystem, but if the specator learns to listen and remains calm every aspect of the soundscape can potentially return.
